I am slowly but surely learning how to do this. I feel as though I spent a good chunk of my life focusing on the social - studying people, rambling from one focus to another, lacking a clear and self-guided direction, trying the tastes of others. And now, I am beginning to develop my own palette. I'm sure I will be doing this for the rest of my life, but the point is that I am no longer doing it with someone else's preferences in mind.
